Modern Diet - Rip Tide

About a month ago, high school Senior, Jake Cheriff, introduced me to his solo project under the moniker Modern Diet. His smooth, yet more so distinctive voice sets the tone of the track, perfectly weaving in and out through ear catching harmonies. The professionalism here is real and it’s incredible he’s doing it by himself.

Cheriff explains his intention, “…capturing the soul which gives life to older tunes, while simultaneously utilizing technology that sonically enhances more contemporary music.” As an aspiring studio engineer, he’s very much ahead of the game.

His debut single, Rip Tide, is packed with echos and unmistakeable hooks. Whether it be the crisp electronic nodes connecting each layer of sound or his fluctuating, energy soaked vocals, the catchiness is contagious.
